
I was lucky growing up... I was exposed to just about every
kind of food imaginable.
My mother was raised partly in the city in Washington, partly in the city in Los
Angeles.
My father was raised on a farm in North Dakota
and then was stationed in the South Pacific during his 17 years in the Navy..
and I was raised in the multi-culture of Southern California.
My favorites are Italian, Oriental, and Mexican.
But, unless I am preparing Oriental or Mexican foods I am a very lazy cook...
And I love entertaining, so I want good food to serve my guests,
I've learned to take different kinds of foods and improve on them...
and, of course, some foods you just need to take time with..
You'll find both kinds of recipes below...
The recipes for shredded beef, pork, and chicken take a time to prepare,
but can then be used in anything from chimichangas to soups.
The Oriental dishes are well worth the time :)
